TENSE TUESDAY: 'WANNA' VS. 'WANT TO': meaning and examples

Happy Tuesday, everyone! For Tense Tuesday, we are taking a look at the words WANNA and WANT TO

You might know that WANNA is how we often pronounce WANT TO when we are speaking.

Example 1: Do you wanna go to the store with me?

Example 2: I don't wanna do my homework.

Typically, we use WANNA for speaking and WANT TO for writing. Sometimes, it is appropriate to write WANNA as well, but this is only in informal situations like a text message or maybe a Facebook post

Example 3 (text message): What time you wanna leave tonight?

Example 4 (on Facebook): Anyone wanna rent my friend's awesome flat? It's available on the 1st!

That's all for today. Thanks for reading! If you WANT TO practice a little, post a comment on Facebook about what you want to (wanna) do this weekend.

Have a great day!
