THEME THURSDAY: WORDS FROM SHAKESPEARE (RANT): meaning and examples

For April we are looking at words from Shakespeare for our Theme Thursday posts. Today we are looking at the verb RANT.
Definition: to speak or shout in an angry, impassioned way.
Example 1: The celebrity ranted on Twitter. I think he was drunk.
Example 2: The politician ranted about her opponent during her speech.
We also use it often in the expression TO GO ON A RANT.
Example 3: Before you go on a rant, make sure you understand what happened here.
Example 4: The customer went on a rant and it made the other customers really uncomfortable.
Shakespeare used this word in Hamlet with the line:
"I'll rant as well as thou." (Translation: "I'll rant as well as you do.")
