WORDY WEDNESDAY: 'DRIVE' AS A SYNONYM FOR MOTIVATION: meaning and examples

Good morning. Happy Wednesday to everyone!

Today's mid-week lesson focuses on the word DRIVE. We typically use the word DRIVE for cars, but did you know that we also use DRIVE as a synonym for MOTIVATION?

Definition: the desire to reach a goal. 

Example 1: She has the drive to succeed. 

Example 2: What drives you to do well in your job?

Example 3: He is a very driven student and studies a lot. 

Notice how we can use the NOUN, VERB or PAST PARTICIPLE forms of the word DRIVE
