THEME THURSDAY: COUNT OR NON-COUNT? HAIR(S): meaning and examples

Welcome back to the Daily Vitamin! Happy Thanksgiving!

For November's Theme Thursday, we are examining nouns that are both count and non-count. Today we are looking at the word HAIR.

As a non-count noun, hair means the TOTAL HAIR ON YOUR HEAD.

Example 1: I cut my hair yesterday.

Example 2: She has beautiful red hair.

As a count noun, hair means INDIVIDUAL STRANDS OF HAIR.

Example 3: There are two hairs on my shirt.

Example 4: I found three gray hairs this morning.

We have also looked at count and non-count noun examples for EXPERIENCE, WORK, and TALK. Click on these words to read these lessons.

That's all for today. Happy Thursday to each of you. We will see you tomorrow for Phrasal Verb Friday.

Have a great day!
