TICK EXPRESSIONS-4: meaning and examples
Today we are going to look at one last expression with the word TICK.
Today's expression is: to tick away
Meaning: used to talk about the passing of time.
Example 1:
I need to get to the airport by 5:00 PM, and the minutes seem to be ticking away very quickly. I'm going to be late.
Example 2:
As time ticked away, the surgeons worked quickly to repair the walls of Jack's heart.
