Today we finish our series of Daily Vitamins about expressions with the word SLIP.

Today's expression is: TO GIVE SOMEONE THE SLIP (INFORMAL)

Meaning: to escape or get away from someone who is following or chasing you.

Example 1:
We were following the suspect closely but he gave us the slip.

Example 2:
When I left the office today, there was a strange man following me; however, I gave him the slip on a crowded street. I wonder who he was.

There will be no Essential Weekly Vitamin tomorrow since it is All Saints Day, which is a bank holiday in Spain. We'll be back on Monday.

Until then, have a great day and an excellent long weekend!
