TO BE CAUGHT RED-HANDED: meaning and examples

Good morning!

I hope you had a great weekend! Last week we explained some words and expressions related to corruption. This week we're going to talk about some words and expressions related to the consequences of those actions!

Today's expression is: to be caught red-handed

It means: when somebody catches you in the middle of doing a criminal action.

Example 1:
The thief was caught red-handed as he was leaving the house. He was carrying a bag with stolen jewellery, money and electronic devices.

Example 2:
The accountant was caught red-handed while he was transferring money to an off-shore account.
