TO MIND-4: meaning and examples

Good morning. Today we complete our look at the word mind with some common expressions that use it. Today's 1st Expression with mind is: NEVER MIND! Meaning-Use 1: you say this when you don't want to repeat something that you have just said, or if you want someone to ignore it because it's not important. Example 1 Speaker 1: Have you seen my glasses? Speaker 2: Sorry? Speaker 1: Oh, never mind! I've found them! Meaning-Use 2: you say this to make someone feel better when something unpleasant has happened. Example 2 Speaker 1: I can't believe I failed the driving test! Speaker 2: Never mind! It's so difficult that not many people pass the first time around. I'm sure you'll do better next time. Today's 2nd Expression with mind is: MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS! Meaning-Use: a rude way to tell someone not to ask questions about your personal affairs. Example 3 Speaker 1: What was Jamie saying to you just now? Speaker 2: Mind your own business! It's between him and me. Today's 3rd Expression with mind is: DO YOU MIND? or WOULD YOU MIND? Meaning-Use: to ask politely for something.
