PROPER: meaning and examples

Good morning. I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Today's word is: PROPER

It means: correct, appropriate or respectable.

Example 1:
You need to wear proper clothes for the interview. Jeans and a t-shirt are not acceptable.

Example 2:
Father: You have two university degrees, Melissa! Why can't you find a proper job?
Melissa: I love singing in the band, dad. Why can't YOU just accept it?

Example 3:
It's not considered proper English to say "ain't," although it's quite common in some dialects and in songs.

Have a wonderful day!
