HOT-2: meaning and examples

Hello again everyone.

Today we continue our look at expressions with the word hot.

Today's expression is: to go hot and cold

Meaning: to experience a sudden feeling of fear or anxiety.

Example 1:
I was alone in the house and it was very late at night. Someone knocked at the door. I suddenly went hot and cold.

Example 2:
When the phone rang, I just went hot and cold.
