GULLIBLE: meaning and examples

Good morning.

This week will be the last week of Daily Vitamins in 2008, and then we will take a holiday break until Wednesday, January 7th.

This week I wanted to go over a few of the interesting words and expressions that came up in the Ziggurat Breakfast Club last Saturday (December, 13th).

Today's word is: Gullible

Meaning: If you are a gullible person, you are too willing to believe or accept what other people tell you and you are therefore easily tricked. Some synonyms would be credulous or naïve.

Example 1:
People who believe everything that is claimed in television advertisements are quite gullible.

Example 2:
Many times while walking down the Ramblas in Barcelona, I have seen gullible tourists losing money playing the shell game.

If you have questions about today's Daily Vitamin, please post them in the Daily Vitamin Plus! forum section on our website (www.ziggurat.es).

Have a good day.
