This month we are trying to help you expand your vocabulary with some useful expressions. We know that English learners are often tired of saying "I like" or "I enjoy" something. That's why in October we are looking at EXPRESSIONS FOR INTEREST.
We are beginning with TO BE A FAN OF (SOMETHING).
Example 1: I am a fan of Japanese cartoons.
Example 2: I bought my Dad tickets to the next football match because he is a big fan of our local team.
We can also use it in the negative form to politely say that we do not like something.
Example 3: My flatmate gave me the free concert tickets because she is not a fan of country music.
Example 4: Thank you for the offer, but I am not a fan of sweet foods.
What are you a fan of? Tell us on our Facebook page.
We look forward to reading your answers!
