COMPOUND ADJECTIVES (WELL-KNOWN): meaning and examples

Welcome back and happy Friday, everyone!

Today is our last lesson of the week, and we are completing our Compound Adjectives theme

Today's two-word adjective is: WELL-KNOWN

Definition: An adjective to describe someone or something that is popular or commonly known.

Example 1: My brother is a well-known writer. Sometimes people recognize him when we go out together.

Example 2: My city is home to a well-known artist. Sometimes I see him painting in our town square.

Example 3: Atkins is a well-known diet where you do not eat carbohydrates. I tried it once, but I love bread too much to give it up.

That's all for this week. Thank you for reading and have a fantastic weekend!
