WORDY WEDNESDAY: GLOAT: meaning and examples

I think you will find today's Wordy Wednesday useful: it’s a verb used to describe people who focus a lot on their own success... or are happy when others are not successful. The word is TO GLOAT

Meaning: to dwell (focus) on one's success or another's misfortune with pleasure.

Example 1: He won't stop gloating about his promotion. 

Example 2: I wanted to talk about my new job, but I didn't want to gloat because my friend just lost her job. 

Example 3: Don't gloat about your team's win: it makes you look bad.
